HLC is a non-profit 501c3 club lacrosse program offering league and tournament play, practices, and instructional clinics and training throughout the year. HLC serves northern Maryland and southern Pennsylvania communities.

Our mission is to provide the best possible lacrosse playing experience for players and their families. The “H” in HLC stands for the honor, heritage, humility and hard work which are the core values of our club.

Our focus is on developing team and individual skills, while improving players’ understanding of game dynamics, all while instilling teamwork, accountability, commitment, self-motivation, honesty and integrity.  And, of course, we do our best to make it fun!

  1. VIBE.  We invite you to experience this for yourself!
  2. COMPETATIVE.  An exceptional lacrosse experience, competing year-round in top competitive lacrosse tournaments during the spring, summer and fall.
  3. HOLISTIC APPROACH.  Whole-player approach to athlete development following the best practices as suggested by the Lacrosse Athlete Development Model (LADM), created by USA Lacrosse.
  4. COACHING.  We staff 3-5 USA Lacrosse certified coaches per team, with each team’s coaching staff having a mix of highly experienced and younger coaches, including post-collegiate and professional players.  Most team’s coaches will have 50 or more years of collective playing and coaching experience – a huge benefit to players!
  5. RECRUITING.  Local relationships with college coaches and specialized coaching talent to deliver on our commitment to developing our players.
  6. INNOVATION.  Our board focuses on key areas such as player safety, player & coach development, recruitment, and skill clinics/events. Throughout the year, the board meets to discuss the current lacrosse environment and how to continually improve the lacrosse experience for our players.
  7. PRICE.  Being a non-profit, we offer a superior product at a reasonable price to achieve a successful rate of return for each family.

HLC uses a 3-phased player development model that provides a progressive structure for skill development and competitive play at every age level, from Elementary through High School.  Phase initiatives include:

  • Phase 1 Elementary (5th grade & Under)
To develop the multi-sport youth athlete in a competitive structure
  • Phase 2 Middle School (6-8th grade)
To develop the multi-sport middle school athlete to competitively be ready for High School.
  • Phase 3 High School (9-11th grade)
To develop and provide high school players who wish to play lacrosse at the collegiate level gain appropriate visibility to the college recruiting process and provide players and their parents a resource to help evaluate post-high school lacrosse opportunities.
