LIMELIGHT 2027
Head Coach
Dan Carpenter
Coach Dan has played many sports over the years, but never once played women’s lacrosse. He has coached with Limelight Lacrosse for eight years and has been with the 2027s for 6 of those years. His favorite part of coaching is helping his players achieve their goals and improve beyond their expectations. He inspires to teach a dedication to the game, the desire to compete, and when times are tough the courage to try again. Most of all he wants to encourage a love of competition and joy for the game. “I love watching the girls learn a new skill or technique and then using it in their play.”
Coach Dan is very proud to have two of his former players as assistant coaches. His daughter, Emma Carpenter, and Grace Burke. Both help to bring a different view, excitement and communication that a grumpy old man may sometimes lack with young ladies. Since he began coaching, the 2027s have become a tough and competitive team. Competing in the NGLL playoffs and winning multiple summer and fall tournaments.
Fun fact: He once watched a documentary on whistles and knows that the US Olympic Basketball Team was almost robbed of a gold medal by a faulty pea whistle. You will never catch him with a pea whistle.
